EU Officials Decry US Action as ‘Intimidation’

European leaders including the French president charged Washington of “coercion and intimidation”, following the travel bans targeted individuals who have been at the heart of campaigns to introduce laws governing US-based technology firms.

“For far too long, European activists have led organised efforts to coerce American platforms to suppress American viewpoints they oppose,” stated a senior US official in a social media post. “This government will no longer tolerate such actions of extraterritorial censorship.”
