Throughout the evening, Russian missile and drone strikes have resulted in power cuts in multiple districts of the capital city, Kyiv.
A number of civilians were wounded while local people in the city's east were experienced blackouts and encountered interruptions to drinking water, according to city officials.
At the same time, a young boy was killed in a different assault in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southeastern part, based on information from area administrators.
Russian forces has escalated strikes on power infrastructure over the past few days, while Ukrainian leadership has demanded "substantial measures" from allies to exert influence on Moscow.
"The necessity is not superficial actions but strong steps - from the US, Europe and the Group of Seven - in delivering air defence systems and enforcing penalties," mentioned in a public message.
Authorities reported that 450 drones and over thirty projectiles targeted energy facilities, characterizing such assaults as "premeditated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as the weather cools.
Government representatives said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and maintenance teams were striving to repair systems.
A wave of strikes damaged energy infrastructure and apartment buildings in Kyiv.
Multiple people injured in the attacks on the capital have been hospitalized, per statements from city authorities.
Local officials said the metropolitan region experienced significant strikes during nighttime hours. A seven-year-old child lost their life and three other people were hurt.
The assaults come after evenings of aerial attacks in the area, parts of which are currently controlled by Russian forces.
All of Ukraine is in a state of readiness for advanced weapon attacks, which are tougher to detect.
Authorities told reporters that Moscow was purposely seeking to demolish the national power system, with attacks already affecting energy systems.
Officials stated technical personnel and government agencies were bracing for more assaults.
